Spider venom comprises of 10 million bioactive peptides but only 800 peptides are pharmacologically characterized. Despite this limited number of characterized peptides, the range of biological activities they perform is incredible. Their venom is able to potently block a variety of receptors, channels, enzymes and other various target sites.
