The cooling of the vertical plate immersed in initially quiescent fluid occurs in many engineering problems. The two approaches for prediction of time variation of the plate temperature and heat transfer rate between the plate and the fluid are compared. The first approach is based on solving of the full mathematical model by means of AVL FIRE software.
