So far as mining industry is concerned, noise pollution is not new. It is generated from operation of equipment and plants for excavation and transport of minerals which affects mine employees as well as population residing in nearby areas. Although in the Recommendations of Tenth Conference on Safety in Mines, noise mapping has been made mandatory in Indian mines still mining industry are not giving proper importance on producing noise maps of mines.
