Application of Wavelet Transform in the Evaluation of the Closeloop Levitation Gap of Maglev Train

Abstract

This paper describes an application of the wavelet transform in the evaluation of the closeloop levitation gap of maglev trains. The wavelet threshold denoising method is used to eliminate the noise in the measured gap signals. Furthermore, the meth-od of wavelet transform modulus maxima (WTMM) is adopted to determine the positions of anti-chucking sliders which will contaminate the levitation gap signals. The experimental results show that WTMM is applicable to find the anti-chucking slid-ers so that guarantees the accuracy of the measurement of the levitaion gap.
