In a previous paper we reported evidence which suggested that a free omental graft has trophic characteristics similar to those of the chorionic epithelium of the early embryo, through which it establishes arteriolar or larger connections with aorta, heart and pericardium within 10 days after it has been placed in contact with the denuded surfaces of each structure. The theory of omental trophism was tested by dropping pieces of omentum completely detached into the pleural and peritoneal…
Omental transplantation for Buerger’s disease
TLDR
The Research Committee on Buerger’s disease came to the conclusion that TAO is a useful and definite clinical category which should not be discarded and should be discarded.
Pedicled omentum versus free omental graft for myocardial revascularization.
TLDR
The pedicled Omentum would appear to be superior to the free omentum for purposes of myocardial revascularization and this paper is to bring this possibility into focus.
THE SURGICAL TREATMENT OF CORONARY ARTERY HEART DISEASE BY INTERNAL MAMMARY ARTERY IMPLANTATION: REPORT OF 140 CASES FOLLOWED UP TO THIRTEEN YEARS.
The Vineberg internal mammary artery implantation operation has been used successfully in the treatment of coronary artery insufficiency and has proved to be patent in over 70 per cent of the vessels
Pelvic pedicled omental flaps and autologous free omental grafts in a rabbit model
TLDR
Survival of all omental flaps and grafts demonstrates that this is a practical model for studying omentum as a pelvic adhesion barrier, and Determining the efficacy of omentums as a vaginal adhesion Barrier will require further investigation.
The Omentum
"Revascularization By Unilateral-Bilateral Ventricular Mammary Artery Implants and Peri-Coronary Omental Grafts"
TLDR
Progression of atherosclerosis of the distal surface coronary artery lesions may restrict the flow through a reconstructed coronary artery leading to its obstruction, particularly true for aorto-coronary bypass grafts which set up considerable turbulence an accepted factor in Atherosclerosis.
