BACKGROUND Arterial stiffness is associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes, particularly in end-stage renal disease (ESRD). One mechanism linking arterial stiffness with cardiovascular events may be the changes in pressure wave reflection on ventricular ejection and coronary perfusion during diastole.
