The antiviral effects of Nauclea latifolia on Newcastle Disease Virus (wild type) were studied in embryonated chicken eggs. The dried and powdered plant materials were subjected to solvent extraction by Soxhlet apparatus. Phytochemical analyses of the extracts were carried out. This showed the presence of flavanoids, saponins, tannis, alkaloids, anthraquinone, oils, proteins, reducing sugars, carbohydrates and the absence of cyanogenetic glycosides.
