To understand the mechanism of peroxisome proliferator-induced oxidative stress in non-mutagenic carcinogenesis, the effect of ciprofibrate, a peroxisome proliferator, on the activities and protein amounts of various antioxidant enzymes in different subcellular compartments was examined.
