Background. The strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo L.) fruit contains a higher amount of nutrients and bioactive compounds than many other cultivated species, however, the edible use of this fruit is currently not widespread. In this study, the influences of vacuum drying have been investigated in terms of changing of some nutritional characteristics, antioxidant properties, and colour. Material and methods. Fruits were collected from Çanakkale province in Turkey and next vacuum dried. Ethyl oleate… Expand

TLDR
There was a significant difference (p<0.05) between sun and solar drying methods on nutrient content and sensory acceptability of processed products from selected Benincasa hispida varieties available in Dodoma region. Expand
Drying kinetics of probiotic-impregnated murta (Ugni molinae T.) berries
TLDR
Impregnation at 150 mbar for 15 min followed by convective drying at 40 °C appears as the method of choice to produce probiotic enriched murta berries that can be commercialized as probiotic dried snacks. Expand
Infrared drying of strawberry.
TLDR
The effects of different drying conditions, such as infrared power, drying air temperature and velocity, on quality of strawberries were evaluated and the optimal conditions to preserve nutrients in infrared drying of strawberry were 200W, 100°C and 1.5m.s-1. Expand
Moisture Migration and Bulk Nutrients Interaction in a Drying Food Systems: A Review
Drying is a technique that involves removal of moisture using heat energy. This heat affects the protein components in foods especially the thiosulphide groups, which causes hydrophobic bond breakExpand
Modeling of the dissolution kinetics of arbutus wild berries-based tablets as evaluated by electric conductivity
