The secondary, derived metabolites of trees (wood extractives) contribute to specific properties and unique features of the wood, such as color, odour, durability, etc. Taiwania cryptomerioides Hayata is a native tree that grows at elevations from 1800–2600 m in Taiwan’s central mountains.
