Antiglomerular basement membrane (anti-GBM) diseases-including Goodpasture's (GP) syndrome-and Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) are systemic diseases, which may be diagnosed by means of circulating autoantibodies. Possible overlap syndromes may exist; however, they remain imperfectly defined. We analyzed sera from 31 patients with WG and from 23 patients with anti-GBM disease. All underwent biopsy. Anti-cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) were demonstrated by indirect immunofluorescence (IIF); a…
Characteristics and Outcome of Chinese Patients with Both Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody and Antiglomerular Basement Membrane Antibodies
TLDR
Investigation of the prevalence of anti-GBM antibodies in sera from a large cohort of Chinese patients with AASV and to characterize the clinical and pathological features of the ‘double positive’ patients found them to have multisystem involvement but poor short-term prognosis found patients with double antibodies were not rare in AASv.
Coexistence of anti-glomerular basement membrane antibodies and myeloperoxidase-ANCAs in crescentic glomerulonephritis.
TLDR
In patients with both anti- GBM antibodies and MPO-ANCAs, histological findings differ from those of patients with anti-GBM antibodies only, however, renal survival in these patients is not better than that in anti-TBM-positive patients and is worse compared with patients with MPO -ANCAs only.
Comparison of anti-GBM antibodies in sera with or without ANCA.
TLDR
All sera in both groups were found to react with the NC1 domain (as a hexamer) of bovine Type IV collagen and with alpha 3 (IV)NC1 monomers, and the anti-GBM response in both situations is hypothesized to be driven by the same immunogen.
Antibody-negative Goodpasture’s disease
TLDR
An unusual case of a patient with clinical and histological evidence of anti-GBM antibody mediated Goodpasture’s syndrome with positive anti-neutrophil cytoplasm antibodies (ANCA) but without evidence of circulating anti- GBM antibody is reported.
Coexistence of Anti-Glomerular Basement Membrane Antibodies and Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies in a Child With Human Leukocyte Antigen Susceptibility and Detailed Antibody Description
TLDR
This is the first reported pediatric case with coexistence of ANCAs and anti-GBM antibodies, in which the HLA typing and immunologic characters of autoantibodies were identified.
Goodpasture syndrome involving overlap with Wegener's granulomatosis and anti-glomerular basement membrane disease.
TLDR
The patient reported here had the unusual combination of c-ANCA antibodies with anti-GBM disease, and this association raises complex questions regarding the pathogenesis of this type of renal injury.
Classification of antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody vasculitides: the role of antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody specificity for myeloperoxidase or proteinase 3 in disease recognition and prognosis.
TLDR
ANCA specificity independently predicts relapse among patients with AAV with renal disease, and classification and diagnostic systems that incorporate ANCA specificity provide a more useful tool than the clinical pathologic category alone for predicting relapse.
A Case of Simultaneous, Biopsy-Proven, Classic, ANCA-Positive Wegener's Granulomatosis and Anti-GBM Disease, but without Detectible Circulating Anti-GBM Antibodies
TLDR
Findings characteristic of both WG and linear IgG deposition along the GBM suggesting concurrent anti-GBM disease, in the absence of detectable circulating anti- GBM antibodies are presented.
Anti-glomerular basement membrane disease and dual positivity for antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody in a patient with membranous nephropathy.
