The methanol leaf extracts of Ruellia tuberosa showed significant antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonia, Bacillus subtilis, Proteus mirablis and antifungal activity against Aspergillussp, Mucorsp, Penicilliumsp and Fusarium sp. The antibacterial potential of Ruellia tuberose methanol extract was tested by using Agar well diffusion method. The (100mg/ml) leaf extract showed maximum inhibition against Proteus mirablis (7mm).
