The antimicrobial activity of clove and clove bud oil were investigated by agar well diffusion method against five dental caries causing microorganisms namely Streptococcus mutans, Staphylococcus aureus, Lactobacillus acidophilus (bacteria) , Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeast). The results indicated that clove and clove oil have a potent antimicrobial activity against the tested dental caries causing microorganisms.
