AbstractNatural remedies from medicinal plants are considered to be effective and safe alternative treatments for diabetes mellitus. The current study deals with the effect of a single oral dose of the aqueous extract of Trichosanthes dioica. Roxb. (Cucurbitaceae) seeds in different diabetic animal models. Evaluation of the antihyperglycemic effect in normal, subdiabetic, and mild diabetic animal models is based on fasting blood glucose (FBG) and glucose tolerance test (GTT) studies.
