Preincubation of human blood lymphocytes with cell surface antigen specific antibodies under non‐capping conditions reduces the electrophoretic mobility of the corresponding lymphocyte subpopulation. Antigen‐positive and antigen‐negative cells can be separated by free flow electrophoresis with high yield, purity and viability. The use of fluorescence‐labelled second antibodies augments the induced decrease in net surface charge density, and allows rapid detection of antigen‐positive cells in…
Lymphocyte fractionation using immunomagnetic colloid and a dipole magnet flow cell sorter.
Isolation of peroxisome subpopulations from rat liver by means of immune free‐flow electrophoresis
TLDR
This work has succeeded in isolating different subpopulations of PO by applying IFFE to heavy, light, and post‐mitochondrial fractions separated by differential centrifugation of a rat liver homogenate, and obtained PO subfractions differed in their composition of matrix and membrane proteins, as revealed by immunoblotting.
Isolation of rat hepatic peroxisomes by means of immune free flow electrophoresis
TLDR
PO isolated by this modification, referred to as immune free flow electrophoresis (IFFE), are as pure, intact, and structurally well‐preserved as are highly purified PO obtained by density gradient centrifugation.
Free-flow electrophoresis for purification of plant mitochondria by surface charge.
TLDR
Free-flow electrophoresis has the potential to allow a deeper and more comprehensive investigation of the Arabidopsis organellar proteomes, by providing a second dimension of separation based on surface charge in addition to conventional centrifugation purification protocols relying on size and density.

Distinct subpopulations of thymus-dependent lymphocytes. Tracing of the differentiation pathway of T cells by use of preparatively electrophoretically separated mouse lymphocytes.
TLDR
A possible sequence of steps in the maturation of T cells was constructed as follows: in the cortex of the thymus T1 thymocytes are transformed into T2 and these develop into T3 and T4 thymocyte which have higher negative surface charge, lower θ antigen content and are in an advanced stage of maturity.
Application of cell electrophoretic methods (preparative and analytical) in demonstrating the surface heterogeneity of T-lymphocytes in man.
TLDR
This qualitative study shows a heterogeneous distribution of the T-lymphocytes from the most rapid to the slowest migration zones, which confirms the heterogeneity of T-cells.
Relationship between electrophoretic mobility and activation of human monocytes
TLDR
The results suggest that there is a relationship between the stability of the EM of human monocytes and their ability to support lymphocyte proliferation during an in vivo immune response, when FCS is obviously not present.
Human T lymphocyte subpopulations defined by Fc receptors and monoclonal antibodies. A comparison
TLDR
It was found that both isolated OKT4+ and OKT5+ T cell subsets contained few T gamma cells, whereas both subsets were mainly comprised of T mu cells, and there is little correlation between Tcell subsets defined by these monoclonal antibodies and those defined by Fc receptors.
Partial separation of human blood leukocytes by density gradient electrophoresis:different mobilities of lymphocytes with IgG, those with IgM and IgD, T lymphocytes, and monocytes.
TLDR
The recently developed technique of density gradient electrophoresis is applied, to examine the separability of human T and B peripheral lymphocytes.
