The dichloromethane extract of Talaromyces convolutus cultivated on barley exhibited antifungal activity against Candida albicans. In the course of a search for the active compounds, four new tetramic acid derivatives, talaroconvolutins A (1), B (2), C (3), and D (4), were isolated along with ZG-1494alpha (5), and mitorubrin derivatives. The structures of talaroconvolutins A-D (1-4) were established on the basis of spectroscopic and chemical investigations and chemical correlations. The…
Talarofuranone, a New Talaroconvolutin Analog from the Endophytic Fungus Talaromyces purpurogenus from Pouteria campechiana Seeds
An endophytic fungus Talaromyces purpurogenus was isolated from the seeds of the popular edible fruit Pouteria campechiana and a furanone analogue of talaroconvolutin A, named talarofuranone was determined by comparing the NMR data with that of 2 and by HRFABMS.
A new dimeric anthraquinone from endophytic Talaromyces sp. YE3016
Abstract A new unsymmetrical dimeric anthraquinone, 3-demethyl-3-(2-hydroxypropyl)-skyrin (1) was isolated from the solid-state fermentation extract of an endophytic fungal strain Talaromyces sp. YE
Coniosetin, a novel tetramic acid antibiotic from Coniochaeta ellipsoidea DSM 13856.
Coniosetin has a pronounced antibacterial and antifungal action, inhibiting even multi drug-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus at a concentration of 0.3 microg/ml, though it is inactive against Gram-negative bacteria.
Antimycotic Activity of 20 Plants from Colombian Flora
Abstract The antifungal activities of 65 extracts were evaluated through the agar well diffusion method in 22 plant samples from the Ucumari Natural Regional Park (UNRP). These samples belong to 20
Talaromyces wortmannii FS2 emits β-caryphyllene, which promotes plant growth and induces resistance
The role of β-caryophyllene is discussed in the activities of PGPF, a plant-growth-promoting fungus isolated from an agricultural field in southwestern Japan, which significantly enhanced the growth of seedlings and their resistance to Colletotrichum higginsianum.
Diversity of Talaromyces from soils and their effects on plant pathogenic fungi in vitro
Most strains of T. flavus could effectively control Phytophthora parasitica, Fusarium oxysporum, F. semitectum, Colletotrichum capsici, and C. gloeosporioides in vitro, but did not control Lasiodiplodia theobromae, Rhizoctonia oryzae and Sclerotium rolfsii in vitro.
Spiculisporic Acid E, a New Spiculisporic Acid Derivative and Ergosterol Derivatives from the Marine-Sponge Associated Fungus Talaromyces trachyspermus (KUFA 0021)
Spiculisporic acid E (2), glaucanic acid and glauconic acid did not show in vitro growth inhibitory activity against the MCF-7 (breast adenocarcinoma), NCI-H460 (non-small cell lung cancer) and A375-C5 (melanoma) cell lines by the protein binding dye SRB method.
Two New Succinimide Derivatives Cladosporitins A and B from the Mangrove-derived Fungus Cladosporium sp. HNWSW-1
Two new succinimide-containing derivatives, cladosporitins A (1) and B (2), were isolated from the fermentation cultures of the mangrove-derived fungus Cladosporium sp. HNWSW-1, along with a new
A potential use of Talaromyces species as biological agents against plant pathogenic fungi.
Soil samples were collected from agricultural and forest soils in the Eastern and Northern Thailand for isolation of Talaromyces spp. The alcohol and heat treatment methods and glucose ammonium
