Major depression (MD) is underdiagnosed and undertreated in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). Side effects of some antidepressants, like increased risk of seizures and drug-drug interactions with anticonvulsants, contribute to undertreatment of MD in patients with TLE.
