Peptic ulcer disease is a problem of the gastrointestinal tract. Nowadays, drugs are expensive and have many side effects during treatment of any disorders. Therefore, our study aimed to investigate and compare antiulcer effect of cinnamon and chamomile aqueous extracts at doses of 100, 200, 300, 400mg/kg of body weight (b.wt) with antiulcer drug (Zantac TM Ranitidine). Fifty male rats weighing 160±5g were distributed into ten groups. Group I serves as a positive group. Group II serves as…
Therapeutic role of ginger and chamomile aqueous extract for peptic ulcer using experimental rats
TLDR
According to the results, ginger and chamomile could be used for healing acute gastric ulcer disease especially ginger and water aqueous extract at doses of 400 mg/kg b.wt.
Gastroprotective effects of aqueous extract of Chamomilla recutita against ethanol-induced gastric ulcers.
TLDR
Evidence is provided for the regulation of ACE-mediated gastroprotection against ethanol-induced ulceration by GSH, which decreased significantly in a dose-dependent manner in treated animals.
Effect Of Aqueous Extracts of Chamomile and Arabic Gum On Indomethacin- Induced Toxicity In Rats
TLDR
The obtained results concluded that using the tested drinks improved   previous mentioned parameters, and the best results were obtained on using the high doses of aqueous extracts.
The effect of Matricaria Chamomilla on the treatment of ibuprofen-induced gastric ulcers in male rats
TLDR
Matricaria Chamomilla caused a dose-dependent gastric ulcer healing effect in animals and was found to cause mucosal lesions in the stomach to be significantly decreased in the group receiving 500mg/kg of Matricariachamomilla.

Aqueous (hydrophilic) and chloroform (Lipophilic) extracts of nine medicinal plants currently used in Egyptian traditional medicine to treat some gastrointestinal tract (GIT) disorders were tested
Anti-ulcerogenic evaluation of the fractions of the ethanol layer of the chloroform-ethanol extract of the leaves of Dacryodes edulis
TLDR
The data of this study indicate that the methanol fraction of the ethanol layer of the chloroform-ethanol extract of the leaves of D. edulis possess remarkable anti-ulcerogenic effect and might serve as source of novel drugs for ulcers in future.
Regular ingestion of cinnamomi cortex pulveratus offers gastroprotective activity in mice
TLDR
The findings indicate that regular ingestion of cinnamon powder offers gastroprotection presumably through a cytoprotective mechanism but the efficacy against NSAIDs-induced gastric ulcers may be limited.
Gastroprotective, cytoprotective and antioxidant effects of Oleum cinnamomi on ethanol induced damage
TLDR
Investigation shows that O. cinnamomi has protective effects on ethanol-induced oxidative and mucosal damage and is effective in treating peptic ulcer disease and liver and kidney disorders induced by ethanol.
ANTIULCER ACTIVITY OF ANNONA RETICULATE LEAVES EXTRACT IN RATS Research Article
TLDR
Aqueous extract of leaves of Annona reticulate is a potent antiulcer agent and shows significant decrease in ulcer index, acid volume and content and showed improvement in glutathione and pH when compared with vehicle control.
Pharmaceutical Potentials of Selected Aromatic Spices: Pharmacological and Phytochemical Evaluation of Cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia), West African Black Pepper (Piper guineense) and Tree Basil (Ocimum gratissimum)
TLDR
Findings indicate that regular ingestion of cinnamon powder offers gastroprotection presumably through a cytoprotective mechanism but the efficacy against NSAIDs-induced gastric ulcers may be limited.

Use of Dipaniya Mahakasaya, a group consisting of 10 herbal drugs, has been suggested in Charaka Samhita to improve digestion and showed significant protection against gastric ulcers induced by 2 hr cold restraint stress, aspirin and 4 hr pylorus ligation.
Pharmacological studies on the antiulcerogenic activity of Chinese cinnamon.
TLDR
The results suggest that the antiulcerogenic effect of Chinese cinnamon is due to both the inhibition of aggressive factors and the potentiation of a defensive factor.

Antiulcerogenic compounds isolated from Chinese cinnamon.
TLDR
Results suggest that the antiulcerogenic effect of this compound is probably attributable to the potentiation of defensive factors through the improvement of the circulatory disorder and gastric cytoprotection.
Antiulcerogenic effect of some gastrointestinally acting plant extracts and their combination.
TLDR
The cytoprotective effect of the extracts could be partly due to their flavonoid content and to their free radical scavenging properties, and the anti-ulcerogenic activity was also confirmed histologically.
