Abstract Context: Perovskia atriplicifolia Benth (Labiantae) has long been used as a traditional herbal medicine for anti-inflammation in Pakistan; this prompted us to isolate anti-inflammatory compounds from this plant. Objective: The objective of this study was to isolate and characterize the anti-inflammatory principles from Perovskia atriplicifolia. Materials and methods: The CHCl3-soluble fraction of the methanol extract of the whole plant on column chromatography yielded compounds 1–6…

In Silico Analysis of Compounds Derived from Perovskia Atriplicifolia for their Antidiabetic Potential

This assumption provides better insight to evaluate further these compounds for in vitro and in vivo testing against diabetes in future, and Abrotanone has a strong antidiabetic potential.

Inhibition of Glycation-induced Cytotoxicity, Protein Glycation, and Activity of Proteolytic Enzymes by Extract from Perovskia atriplicifolia Roots

The extract from Perovskia atriplicifolia Benth, rich in rosmarinic acid, mitigated the glycatedalbumin toxicity, and increased glycated albumin-treated cell survival by more than 50%.

Metabolomics and DNA-Based Authentication of Two Traditional Asian Medicinal and Aromatic Species of Salvia subg. Perovskia

It is demonstrated that DNA barcoding coupled with parallel LC-MS profiling constitutes a powerful tool in identification of taxonomically close Salvia species.

Four New Diterpene Glucosides from Perovskia atriplicifolia

Four new diterpene glucosides, namely perovskiaditerpenosides A – D (1 – 4), were isolated from the BuOH extract of Perovskia atriplicifolia and screened for their cytotoxic activity against HepG2, NB4, HeLa, K562, MCF7, PC3, and HL60.

Lignans as Pharmacological Agents in Disorders Related to Oxidative Stress and Inflammation: Chemical Synthesis Approaches and Biological Activities

The comprehensive knowledge about lignan use as a bioactive agent in disorders associated with oxidative stress and inflammation, pharmacological effects in vitro and in vivo, molecular mechanisms underlying these effects, and chemical synthesis approaches are summarized.

Lignans from the Twigs of Euonymus alatus (Thunb.) Siebold and Their Biological Evaluation

A new sesquilignan, euonymolin A, and six known lignans were isolated from the twigs of Euonymus alatus (Thunb.) Siebold (Celastraceae) and the structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated based on spectroscopic analyses.

Does A Flavoured Extra Virgin Olive Oil Have Higher Antioxidant Properties?

Extra virgin olive oil is highly appreciated worldwide for its healthy and organoleptic properties. From the variety of compounds present in the oil, phenols stand out, not only for producing the

Phenolic constituents from Perovskia atriplicifolia

The compounds 1 and perovskoside showed significant inhibitory activity against lipoxygenase and weak to moderate activity against cholinesterases and caffeic acid and ferulic acid have been reported for the first time from Perovskia atriplicifolia.

Phytochemical investigation of Perovskia abrotanoides.

The phytochemical investigation of the n-hexane, the EtOAc, and then-BuOH soluble fractions of the methanolic extract of the arial parts of Perovskia abrotanoides Karelin furnished ten compounds including the two new tetracyclic diterpenes abrotandiol and abrotanone, whose complete structure elucidation has been achieved with NMR techniques.

Identification and characterization of inhibitors of peptido-leukotriene-synthesis from Petasites hybridus.

It is concluded that isopetasin and the oxopetasan esters in Petasites hybridus inhibit the biosynthesis of the vasoconstrictive peptido-leukotriene biosynthesis in isolated peritoneal macrophages.

Traditional medicinal plants of cold desert Ladakh-used against kidney and urinary disorders.

Atriplisides A And B, Two New Glycosides From Perovskia Atriplicifolia

The new triterpenoidal and flavonone glycosides atriplisides A and B have been isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of the whole plant of Perovskia atriplicifolia. Their structures were

Leukotriene pathway genetics and pharmacogenetics in allergy

Recent advances in the knowledge of leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRA) and LT synthesis inhibitors (LTSI) are summarized, focusing on genetic and pharmacogenetic aspects in the context of allergic phenotypes.

The role of inflammation in CNS injury and disease

The complex interplay between inflammatory mediators, ageing, genetic background, and environmental factors may ultimately regulate the outcome of acute CNS injury and progression of chronic neurodegeneration, and be critical for development of effective therapies for CNS diseases.
