Mast cells play an important role in the pathogenesis of allergic diseases through the release of inflammatory mediators such as histamine, cysteinyl leukotrienes, cytokines, and chemokines. Flavonoids, like fisetin are naturally occurring molecules with antioxidant, cytoprotective, and anti-inflammatory actions.
