1 SUMMARY The objective of this study was to use Radix astragali as an alternative growth medium for cultivation of Ganoderma lucidum and to investigate anti-fatigue activity of its fermentation product. The results suggested that the growth of mycelial of G. lucidum can be inhibited when using Radix astragali as a substrate, but the extracellular polysaccharide in the fermentation production of G. lucidum increased significantly compared to that of general medium.
