Adhesion molecules have a key role in pathological inflammation. Thus, we investigated the effect of anthocyanins on the induction of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) by TNF-alpha and the possible molecular mechanisms by which anthocyanins differentially regulate ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 expression.
