Anthocyanin pigments in strawberry ́ 1

  title={Anthocyanin pigments in strawberry ́ 1},
  author={J. J. Perez Alonso and Juli{\'a}n Carlos Rivas-Gonzalo and Celestino Santos-Buelga},
The anthocyanin composition was analysed in strawberry fruits from five different cultivars (cv. Eris, Oso Grande, Carisma, Tudnew and Camarosa). Twenty-five defined anthocyanin pigments were detected, most of them containing Pelargonidin (Pg) as aglycone; some cyanidin (Cy) derivatives were also found. Glucose and rutinose were the usual substituting sugars, although arabinose and rhamnose tatively identified; some minor anthocyanins showed acylation with aliphatic acids. A relevant aspect was…

progress on polyphenolic phytochemicals of strawberry fruits
Strawberry, which is one of the most widely cultivated fruits in the world, has great nutritional and economic value. Strawberry is rich in vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber and other traditional
Antigenotoxic properties of anthocyanin-enriched fraction of strawberry (cv. Romina) extract on DNA damage induced by H2O2 in human peripheral blood leukocytes
Strawberry fruit Fragaria × ananassa Duchesne, Rosaceae (cv. Romina), rich in anthocyanin polyphenols, has been demonstrated to have favorable effects on health due to its antioxidant properties. The
Evaluation of Germplasm for Different Physicochemical Characteristics and Antioxidant Compounds of Strawberry Fruits
The quality characteristics can be sensory or nutritional. This is also dependent on physical or chemical characteristics for the determination of optimum maturity that changes in the selected
Gamma radiation treated chitosan solution for strawberry preservation: Physico-chemical properties and sensory evaluation
The research was designed to extend shelf life of stored strawberry by bioactive chitosan coating. Strawberry fruits were dipped for 2 min in different concentration of irradiated chitosan (300, 500,

Anthocyanin composition of the fruit of Coriaria myrtifolia L.
The ability to grow C. myrtifolia in damaged and nitrogen poor soils, together with the possibility of using this plant for the extraction of anthocyanin, makes it ideal for consolidating soils and repopulating semi-desert or fire-damaged areas.

Jewel black raspberry and blackberries may be the richest source for antioxidants and a linear correlation between total phenolic content and ORAC activity for fruits and leaves was shown.
Color and Anthocyanin Composition of Strawberry Fruit : Changes during Fruit Development and Differences among Cultivars, with Special Reference to the Occurrence of Pelargonidin 3-malonylglucoside
The occurrence or absence of PMG may play a negligible role in color development, but a balance of three major anthocyanins may affect color appearance of strawberries.
Flavonoid Compounds in the Strawberry Fruit
SUMMARY— The flavonoid compounds of the strawberry fruit were studied by paper chromatography, spectrophotometry and color reactions, Catechin, quercetin–3-glucoside, kaempferol–3–glucoside and
Antioxidant and antiproliferative activities of strawberries.
Overall, free phenolic content was weakly correlated with total antioxidant activity, and flavonoid and anthocyanin content did not correlate with total antioxidants activity.
A survey of anthocyanins. I.
Red-flowered forms have a greater survival value than blue in most tropical plants, and the genus Tulipa falls into two groups in accordance with the morphological classification.
