We investigate magnetic excitations in the S = 1 easy-plane-type triangular antiferromagnets CsFeCl3 and RbFeCl3 through a combination of inelastic neutron scattering measurements and spin-wave theory calculations based on an established exchange-coupling Hamiltonian. We show that in either material the model falls short of providing an adequate description of the measured intensities and for RbFeCl3 even fails to reproduce the measured dispersion relation. The most striking discrepancy is a… Expand

Spinwaves in the Pseudo 1-d Ferromagnetic RbFeCl3
We have measured by means of neutron inelastic scattering the spin-wave dispersion in the pseudo 1-d ferromagnet RbFeCl3 at T = 1.5 K. The observed dispersion in the hexagonal plane is found toExpand
Power-law spin correlations in pyrochlore antiferromagnets
The ground state ensemble of the highly frustrated pyrochlore-lattice antiferromagnet can be mapped to a coarse-grained ``polarization'' field satisfying a zero-divergence condition From this itExpand
Spin ordering in a triangular X-Y antiferromagnet : CsFeCl3 and RbFeCl3
Abstract Spin ordering and its possible frustration in an antiferromagnetic system of X-Y spins with a triangular network are studied by measuring susceptibility and specific heat of CsFeCl3 andExpand
Novel excitations near quantum criticality in geometrically frustrated antiferromagnet CsFeCl3
A new hybridization of the phase and amplitude fluctuations of the order parameter near a quantum critical point in a spontaneously symmetry-broken state is reported. Expand
Magnetic excitations in the triangular spin structure of singlet-ground-state hexagonal antiferromagnet RbFeCl3
Abstract The magnetic excitations observed by Petitgrand et al. in the ordered state of RbFeCl3 are analyzed and understood quantitatively within the triangular spin structure model by using theExpand
Dynamics of Multipoles and Neutron Scattering Spectra in Qquadrupolar Ordering Phase of CeB6
Excitations and neutron scattering spectra in the antiferro-quadrupolar ordering phase of CeB 6 are studied theoretically. We develop a general formulation of the boson expansion method of multipolesExpand
Dipolar spin correlations in classical pyrochlore magnets.
It is conjecture that a local constraint obeyed by the extensively degenerate ground states dictates a dipolar form for the asymptotic spin correlations, at all N not equal 2 for which the system is paramagnetic down to T=0. Expand
Magnetic properties and spin waves of bilayer magnets in a uniform field
Abstract:The two-layer square lattice quantum antiferromagnet with spins 12 shows a zero-field magnetic order-disorder transition at a critical ratio of the inter-plane to intra-plane couplings.Expand
Incommensurate Magnetic Structures in Triangular Antiferromagnets Caused by the Dipole-Dipole Interaction: a Realization of Conical-Point Instability
The dipole-dipole interaction is important in the phase transitions of RbFeCl 3 -type XY-like antiferromagnets. It can realize incommensurate states, which are related to the conical-pointExpand
Breakdown of long-wavelength magnons in cubic antiferromagnets with dipolar forces at small temperature
Using $1/S$ expansion, we discuss the magnon spectrum of Heisenberg antiferromagnet (AF) on a simple cubic lattice with small dipolar interaction at small temperature $T\ll T_N$, where $T_N$ is theExpand
