We consider the possibility that gravity breaks parity, with left and right handed gravitons coupling to matter with a different Newton’s constant and show that this would affect their zero-point vacuum fluctuations during inflation. Should there be a cosmic background of gravity waves, the effect would translate into anomalous CMB polarization. Non-vanishing TB (and EB) polarization components emerge, revealing interesting experimental targets. Indeed if reasonable chirality is present a TB…

Chirality oscillation of primordial gravitational waves during inflation
- Physics, Geology
- 2016
A bstractWe show that if the gravitational Chern-Simons term couples to a massive scalar field (m > H), the primordial gravitational waves (GWs) will show itself the chirality oscillation, i.e., the…
Exploring String Axions with Gravitational Waves
- Physics, Geology
- 2017
We explore the string axion dark matter with gravitational waves in Chern–Simons gravity. We show that the parametric resonance of gravitational waves occurs due to the axion coherent oscillation.…
Testing the Lorentz and CPT symmetry with CMB polarizations and a non-relativistic Maxwell theory
- Physics
- 2010
We present a model for a system involving a photon gauge field and a scalar field at quantum criticality in the frame of a Lifthitz-type non-relativistic Maxwell theory. We will show this model gives…
Parity violation in the Cosmic Microwave Background from a pseudoscalar inflaton
- Physics
- 2011
If the inflaton ϕ is a pseudoscalar, then it naturally interacts with gauge fields through the coupling ∝ϕ Fμν F̃μν. Through this coupling, the rolling inflaton produces quanta of the gauge field,…
Polarized primordial gravitational waves in the ghost-free parity-violating gravity
- PhysicsPhysical Review D
- 2020
The tests of parity symmetry in the gravitational interaction is an attractive issue in gravitational-wave astronomy. In the general theories of gravity with parity violation, one of the fundamental…
High-scale inflation and the tensor tilt
- Computer Science
- 2015
A novel observational signature of gravitational corrections during slow-roll inflation is explored and it is shown that in some scenarios, the coupling of the inflaton field to higher-curvature tensors in models with a minimal breaking of conformal symmetry is captured by a coupling to the square of the Weyl tensor.

A novel observational signature of gravitational corrections during slow-roll inflation is explored and it is shown that in some scenarios, the coupling of the inflaton field to higher-curvature tensors in models with a minimal breaking of conformal symmetry leads to a violation of the tensor consistency condition.
Observable chiral gravitational waves from inflation in string theory
- PhysicsJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics
- 2018
We consider gravitational wave production during inflation in type IIB string theory, and the possibility of observable gravitational waves in small field inflation. We show that the gauge field…
Non-smooth Gravity and Parity Violation
- PhysicsFoundations of Physics

A conservative extension of general relativity is proposed by alleviating the differentiability of the metric and allowing for non-smooth solutions. We show that these metrics break some symmetries…
Perturbations in Chromo-Natural Inflation
- PhysicsJournal of High Energy Physics
- 2013
Chromo-Natural Inflation is the first worked example of a model of inflation in which slow-roll inflation is achieved by “magnetic drift” as opposed to Hubble friction. In this work, we give an…
