The use of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) along with good blood pressure control have been shown to significantly decrease the level of proteinuria and slow the progression of renal insufficiency in patients with nondiabetic glomerular disease including focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS).
