Angiotensin II (ANG) has been suggested to be the neurotransmitter utilised by subfornical organ (SFO) efferents projecting to the paraventricular nucleus (PVN). The PVN has been shown to be involved in mediating the cardiovascular response elicited by electrical stimulation of SFO.
