Hysteroscopy is becoming a more widely used technique. Diagnostic hysteroscopy is replacing conventional dilatation and curettage in the diagnosis of intrauterine pathologies. Transcervical endometrial resection is often the first-line surgical treatment for dysfunctional uterine bleeding and carries less associated morbidity and morality.
