SummaryIn 18 trained football players, blood samples were collected before a football match, at half-time, at the end, and 45 and 90 min after the end of the match. The testosterone (T) level showed a decrease in the rest period. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) increased during the match, but returned to initial levels in the last samples. The T/DHT ratio decreased, reached the minimal value at the end of the exercise, and returned to basal levels in the rest period. Cortisol and androstenedione…

Effects of sport (football) on growth auxological, anthropometric and hormonal aspects
TLDR
It is hypothesize that adrenal hyperactivity may be mainly responsible for the earlier onset of pubertal growth and maturity in exercising males.
CHANGES IN EXERCISE PERFORMANCE AND HORMONAL CONCENTRATIONS OVER A BIG TEN SOCCER SEASON IN STARTERS AND NONSTARTERS
TLDR
Data indicate that players entering the season with low circulating concentrations of T and elevated levels of C can experience reductions in performance during a season, with performance decrements exacerbated in starters over nonstarters.
Acute resistance exercise does not change the hormonal response to sublingual androstenediol intake
TLDR
It is indicated that SL-DIOL acutely elevates serum testosterone and estradiol concentrations, that EX does not alter the endocrine response to SL- DIOL, and that the increases in serumEstradiol last between 480 and 720 min while the increasesIn serum testosterone last <240 min following acute SL-diOL intake.
EFFECTS OF SPEED ENDURANCE TEST ON THE LEVELS OF CORTISOL AND TESTOSTERONE IN HANDBALL PLAYERS
TLDR
It is shown that even trained athletes after physical exercise have increased levels of cortisol and testosterone.
Muscle Damage, Endocrine, and Immune Marker Response to a Soccer Match
TLDR
Sprinting is correlated with changes in CK and MYO and may therefore be associated with muscle damage in semiprofessional soccer players.
Changes in the exercise-induced hormone response to branched chain amino acid administration
TLDR
It is suggested that BCAA administration before exercise affects the response of some anabolic hormones, mainly HGH and T.
Steroid hormones and psychological responses to soccer matches: Insights from a systematic review and meta-analysis
TLDR
It appears cortisol changes are associated with cognitive anxiety in starter female soccer players, while testosterone changes areassociated with changes in mood state in females and social connectedness in male soccer players.
The complex and bidirectional interaction between sex hormones and exercise performance in team sports with emphasis on soccer
TLDR
A review of the currently available knowledge regarding the complex relationship between athletic training and competition and sex steroid hormone adaptation to the demands of the exercise effort and the reciprocal effects of exercise on the endogenous sex hormones.
Physiological Concentrations of DHEA in Human Hair
TLDR
Extensive chromatographic procedures were analytical prerequisites for successful identification of DHEA in hair because of the low target concentrations, and this new technology may find useful applications in anabolic abuse control.

Variations of serum testosterone concentrations after physical exercises of different duration.
TLDR
These findings, and similar variations of serum testosterone observed in an ultramarathon runner during a 6-h training session, suggest that serum testosterone increases during physical activities lasting up to 3 h and decreases to or even below the pre-exercise values for longer physical efforts.
Decreased serum levels of oestradiol, testosterone and prolactin during prolonged physical strain and sleep deprivation, and the influence of a high calory diet

TLDR
It is concluded that oestradiol, testosterone and prolactin are strongly reduced during prolonged strain and were not reversed by a high calory diet.
Comparison of serum testosterone and androstenedione responses to weight lifting in men and women
TLDR
It was concluded that men have a greater absolute T response to weight lifting than women, whereas the absolute A response to heavy-resistance exercise is similar in men and women.
Thyroid and testicular hormone responses to graded and prolonged exercise in man
TLDR
The exercise induced increase in TSH levels possibly explains the increased thyroid hormone secretion rate, which previously has been found in individuals participating in physical training programs.
