Ancient Chinese orchid cultivation A fresh look at an age-old practice

Abstract

The ancient practices of `Lan' (orchids) cultivation in China are reviewed, particularly those cultural methods widely practised during the Song (960±1279 AD) and Ming (1368±1644 AD) dynasties. These practices are examined in the light of our recent understanding of the physiology and horticultural practices of orchids. # 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All… (More)
