The $2N$-dimensional quantum problem of $N$ particles (e.g. electrons) with interaction $\beta/r^2$ in a two-dimensional parabolic potential $\omega_0$ (e.g. quantum dot) and magnetic field $B$, reduces exactly to solving a $(2N-4)$-dimensional problem which is independent of $B$ and $\omega_0$. An exact, infinite set of relative mode excitations are obtained for any $N$. The $N=3$ problem reduces to that of a ficticious particle in a two-dimensional, non-linear potential of strength $\beta…
Approximate ground state of a confined Coulomb anyon gas in an external magnetic field
We derive an analytic, albeit approximate, expression for the ground state energy of N Coulomb interacting anyons with fractional statistics nu, 0$\lt$=|nu|$\lt$=1, confined in a two-dimensional well
Microscopic analytical theory of a correlated, two-dimensional N-electron gas in a magnetic field
We present a microscopic, analytical theory describing a confined N-electron gas in two dimensions subject to an external magnetic field. The number of electrons N and strength of the electron -
Classical interacting particles in confinement
Abstract The lowest energy configurations of systems with N classical particles interacting repulsively and confined in a parabolic potential are studied using a molecular dynamics method. Three
Classical Many-particle Clusters in Two Dimensions
We report on a study of a classical, finite system of confined particles in two dimensions with a two-body repulsive interaction. We first develop a simple analytical method for obtaining equilibrium
Quantum disc plus inverse square potential. An analytical model for two-dimensional quantum rings: Study of nonlinear optical properties
The exact solutions for the two-dimensional motion of a conduction band electron in a disc shaped quantum dot under the effect of an external magnetic field and parabolic and inverse square confining
Optical nonlinearities associated to applied electric fields in parabolic two-dimensional quantum rings
Abstract The linear and nonlinear optical absorption as well as the linear and nonlinear corrections to the refractive index are calculated in a disc shaped quantum dot under the effect of an
Heat capacity and entropy of two electrons quantum dot in a magnetic field with parabolic interaction
Abstract The thermodynamic properties of two electrons in two dimensional parabolic GaAs quantum dot are studied where both the magnetic field and the e–e interaction are fully considered. The e–e
Quadratic and Coulomb Terms for the Spectrum of a Three-Electron Quantum Dot
We consider the Hamiltonian of a three-electron quantum dot composed of quadratic plus Coulomb terms and calculate the system’s spectra. We next apply the hyperradius to reduce the three-body
Two and three electrons in a quantum dot: 1/|J| - expansion
We consider systems of two and three electrons in a two-dimensional parabolic quantum dot. A magnetic field is applied perpendicularly to the electron plane of motion. We show that the energy levels
Properties of the second and third harmonics generation in a quantum disc with inverse square potential. A modeling for nonlinear optical responses of a quantum ring
Abstract The calculation of the second and third harmonic generation coefficients is carried out within the framework of the effective mass approximation in two-dimensional GaAs quantum discs under
