Leaf spot disease in potato is caused by Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler, an opportunistic pathogen that infests many agricultural crops worldwide in the field and during postharvest storage of vegetables and fruits. Alternaria alternata is associated with leaf spot disease in potato in Iran.
