We report the sequences of three cDNAs encoding the two subunits (CA and CB) of crotoxin, a neurotoxic phospholipase A2 from the venom of the South-American rattlesnake Crotalus durissus terrificus. CB is a basic and toxic phospholipase A2 and CA is an acidic, non toxic and non enzymatic three chain containing protein which enhances the lethal potency of CB.
