In this work, we review the effective field theory framework to search for Lorentz and CPT symmetry breaking during the propagation of gravitational waves. The article is written so as to bridge the gap between the theory of spacetime-symmetry breaking and the analysis of gravitationalwaves signals detected by ground-based interferometers. The primary physical effects beyond General Relativity that we explore here are dispersion and birefringence of gravitational waves. We discuss their… Expand

Waveform of gravitational waves in the ghost-free parity-violating gravities
Gravitational waves (GWs) provide an excellent opportunity to test the gravity in the strong gravitational fields. In this article, we calculate the waveform of GWs, produced by the coalescence ofExpand
New limits on the Lorentz/CPT symmetry through fifty gravitational-wave events
Lorentz invariance plays a fundamental role in modern physics. However, tiny violations of the Lorentz invariance may arise in some candidate quantum gravity theories. Prominent signatures of theExpand
Constraining Lorentz-violating, modified dispersion relations with gravitational waves
Modified gravity theories generically predict a violation of Lorentz invariance, which may lead to a modified dispersion relation for propagating modes of gravitational waves. We construct aExpand

Perturbation theory is used to study the detailed form of the modifications to the two gravitational wave modes from the minimal Lorentz-violation coupling, and the perturbation solution for the metric fluctuation up to the first order in LorentZ violation is discussed. Expand
Modification in Gravitational Waves Production Triggered by Spontaneous Lorentz Violation
In this work, we search how the production of gravitational waves is corrected by a spontaneous Lorentz violation triggered by the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the bumblebee vector field (bμ ).Expand
