INTRODUCTION Automated capillary electrophoresis single strand conformation polymorphism (CE-SSCP), denaturant gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE), and direct sequencing were compared to investigate the benefits and sensitivity of each of the methods for detection of unknown TP53 mutations in human lung cancer.
