Analysis and taxonomy of security/QoS tradeoff solutions for the future internet
Supporting quality-of-service (QoS) in a mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a challenging task, particularly in the presence of malicious users. We present a detailed analysis of attacks directed at disrupting QoS in MANETs. We introduce a new class of attacks targeted at degrading QoS. We consider attacks on both reservation-based and reservation-less QoS signaling protocols and discuss possible countermeasures. Finally, we identify and discuss the key issues in achieving secure QoS provisioning in MANETs.
