Background: In China, stroke is the first leading cause of death in recent years. It is a major cause of long-term physical and cognitive impairment, which bring great pressure on National Public Health System. Evaluation of the risk of getting stroke is important for the prevention and treatment of stroke in China. Methods: A data set with 2000 hospitalized stroke patients in 2018 and 27583 residents during the year 2017 to 2020 is analyzed in this study. Due to data incompleteness…

Using machine learning models to improve stroke risk level classification methods of China national stroke screening
Models developed in this paper can improve the current screening method in the way that it can avoid the impact of unknown values, and avoid unnecessary rescreening and intervention expenditures.

International journal of stroke : official journal of the International Stroke Society
  • 2020
The CSPPC Stroke program has led to a significant improvement in stroke care, and this program needs to be further promoted nationwide.
Mortality, morbidity, and risk factors in China and its provinces, 1990–2017: a systematic analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2017
Stroke and ischaemic heart disease were the leading causes of death and DALYs at the national level in China in 2017, and China has made substantial progress in reducing the burden of many diseases and disabilities.
CSDC — A nationwide screening platform for stroke control and prevention in China
The design and implementation of CSDC (China Stoke Data Center), a nationwide stroke screening platform, is illustrated, and some application results are presented.
Stroke in China: epidemiology, prevention, and management strategies
The main findings suggested that total age-adjusted incidence of first-ever stroke in China is not very different from that in developed countries.
[Cut offs and risk stratification of dyslipidemia in Chinese adults].
The cut offs for diagnosis of dyslipidemia in Chinese adults can refer to those used in relevant international guidelines, and at any TC level, the absolute ICVD risk for those having only hypertension was higher than that for thoseHaving 3 other risk factors.
Is There a Stroke Belt in China and Why?
A stroke belt of high stroke incidence exists in 9 provincial regions of north and west China and may be caused, at least in part, by a higher population prevalence of hypertension and excess body weight.
Prevalence, Incidence, and Mortality of Stroke in China: Results from a Nationwide Population-Based Survey of 480 687 Adults
Stroke burden in China has increased over the past 30 years, and remains particularly high in rural areas, with the greatest stroke burden observed in the northern and central regions.
Predicting the 10-Year Risks of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease in Chinese Population: The China-PAR Project (Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China)
Effective tools with good performance for 10-year ASCVD risk prediction among a Chinese population that will help to improve the primary prevention and management of cardiovascular disease are developed.
An integrated machine learning approach to stroke prediction
This study compares the Cox proportional hazards model with a machine learning approach for stroke prediction on the Cardiovascular Health Study (CHS) dataset and proposes a novel automatic feature selection algorithm that selects robust features based on the proposed heuristic: conservative mean.
