Analysis of Radiated Ratsnakes (Coelognathus radiatus, (Boie 1827) Karyotype. Radiated ratsnake is a reptile which has an economic potential an export comodyty. However, there are few reports on genetic studies of radiated ratsnake. The aim of this research was to examine chromosome characters of the radiated ratsnake collected from Sewon, Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Chromosome preparation method used was splash using blood culture. The results revealed that the diploid chromosome…

The Oriental Colubrine Genus Coelognathus Fitzinger, 1843 and Classification of Old and New World Racers and Ratsnakes (Reptilia, Squamata, Colubridae, Colubrinae)
TLDR
The phylogenetic relationships of the colubrine genus Coelognathus is examined on the basis of two partially sequenced mitochondrial genes, COI and 12S rRNA, and a new generic name, Oreocryptophis, is proposed for the East Asian ratsnake taxon Coluber porphyraceus Cantor.
Molecular Systematics and Phylogeny of Old and New World Ratsnakes, Elaphe Auct., and Related Genera (Reptilia, Squamata, Colubridae)
TLDR
The phylogenetic relationships of the Holarctic ratsnakes (Elaphe auct.) are inferred from portions of two mitochondrial genes, 12S rRNA and COI, and another new genus is described for four Oriental species.
The diversity of a snake community in a karst forest ecosystem in the central Truong Son, Vietnam, with an identification key
TLDR
An overview of the spatial and temporal niche segregation of the Phong Nha Ke Bang snake community is shown and the snake species abundances based on own field surveys in the period between 1998 and 2006 are shown.
Sex chromosome associated satellite DNA: Evolution and conservation
Satellites visible in female but not in male DNA were isolated from the snakesElaphe radiata (satellite IV, p = 1.708 g · cm−3) andBungarus fasciatus (BK1 minor, p=1.709 g · cm−3). The satellites
THE CHROMOSOMES OF SOME JAPANESE SNAKES, WITH SPECIAL REGARD TO SEXUAL DIMORPHISM
TLDR
The study on the chromosomes of five species of Japanese snakes, particularly on the morphology and sexual difference of chromosomes, shows that the suborder Serpentes seems to show a step-by-step sex-chromosome differentiation from the morphologically undifferentiated condition to the grossly differentiated status.
Chromosomes ofElaphe subocularis (Reptilia: Serpentes), with the description of an in vivo technique for preparation of snake chromosomes
TLDR
Alle vier Arten haben einZZ/ZW-Geschlechtschromosomensystem und karyotypische Glasplättchen wurden durch eine in vivo Technik hergestellt, die in allen Einzelheiten beschrieben ist.
Rate of Chromosome changes and Speciation in Reptiles
TLDR
The chromosome changing rate was studied in 1329 reptile species in order to evaluate the karyological evolutionary trend and the existence of possible correlations between chromosome mutations and some aspects of the evolution of this class.

Cytogenetic techniques in fish genetics
A modification of a previously described method of fish blood lymphocyte culture is described and discussed with the results of various chromosome banding protocols as applied to fish chromosomes.
