Nicotine is an important class of heterocyclic compound, has been shown to exhibit diverse biological and pharmacological activities. In this study, a series of newer 2-amino nicotinate derivativeshave been synthesized by Baylis Hillman reaction. All the synthesized compounds have been characterized by using elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR spectroscopy and further supported by mass spectroscopy.
