Paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis associated with ovarian teratoma has recently been related to the development of antibodies to specific heteromers of the N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor and exhibits various manifestations including psychiatric symptoms, hypoventilation, seizures and derangement of autonomic nervous system function.
