Since the last classification of Orchidaceae in 2003, there has been major progress in the determination of relationships, and we present here a revised classification including a list of all 736 currently recognized genera. A number of generic changes have occurred in Orchideae (Orchidoideae), but the majority of changes have occurred in Epidendroideae. In the latter, almost all of the problematic placements recognized in the previous classification 11 years ago have now been resolved. In…

Taxonomy and Biogeography of Andinia-Complex (Orchidaceae)
The results of a revision of the orchid genus Andinia are presented. The proposed classification is based on outcomes of morphological and molecular studies. Additionally, the similarity of the
Taxonomic study of Epidendrum (Laeliinae–Orchidaceae) in the state of Maranhão, northeastern Brazil
This study aimed to provide a taxonomic treatment for the genus Epidendrum based on field expeditions and analyses of herbarium specimens, providing an identification key, descriptions, photographs, and a distribution map of the species in the state.
Phylogenetic analysis of Andinia (Pleurothallidinae; Orchidaceae) and a systematic re-circumscription of the genus
It is hypothesize that convergent evolution towards a similar pollinator syndrome involving deceit pollination via pseudocopulation by Diptera resulted in a similar floral morphology between species of subgenus Brachycladium and species of Lepanthes ; hence the prior placement of the species ofSubgenusBrachyCladium in Lepantheds.
Additions to the orchid flora of Laos and taxonomic notes on orchids of the Indo-Burma region
The following nine new additions to the orchid flora of Laos PDR are reported based on surveys in the country conducted during the period 2012-2017: Bulbophyllum alcicorne, B. meson, Coelogyne
Encyclia, Epidendrum, or Prosthechea? Clarifying the Phylogenetic Position of a Rare Amazonian Orchid (Laeliinae-Epidendroideae-Orchidaceae)
A phylogenetic reconstruction was performed using nuclear and plastid datasets, aiming to clarify the generic placement of this taxon, and results strongly support keeping E. apuahuense under Epidendrum.
Synopsis of the genus Ponthieva (Orchidaceae) in Colombia
To facilitate process of identification of genus representatives, Ponthieva was divided into six morphological complexes based on vegetative and floral characters and the highest number of species was found in Magdalena and Cauca Valley montane forests.
Gomesa R. Br. (ORCHIDACEAE: ONCIDIINAE) no Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil : sinopse taxonômica e biologia reprodutiva de espécies representativas
The pollination strategies and breeding systems of two representative species, Gomesa flexuosa and G. cornigera, were studied and it was observed that the specific richness is higher at the eastern and northern regions while decreases towards the west and south.
A new species from Colombia is described, similar to Epidendrum microrigidiflorum, but differs in the inflorescence, the shape and ornamentation of the lip, and the lack of calli on the disc of thelip.
The Epipactis helleborine Group (Orchidaceae): An Overview of Recent Taxonomic Changes, with an Updated List of Currently Accepted Taxa
Based on the reviewed literature and data collected in four taxonomic databases available online, an updated list of the 10 currently accepted taxa in the E. helleborine group (two species, six subspecies, and two varieties) is proposed.
A revised concept of rhipidoglossum (Angraecinae, orchidaceae)
In line with this new taxonomic arrangement, 11 new combinations in Rhipidoglossum are made, and Margelliantha lebelii is moved to Diaphananthe and first reported for Uganda.

Phylogenetic placement, taxonomic revision and a new species of Nothostele (Orchidaceae), an enigmatic genus endemic to the cerrado of central Brazil
A phylogenetic analysis of the genus N. acianthiformis based on nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer and plastid matK and trnL–trnF sequence data shows that Nothostele belongs to subtribe Spiranthinae and is sister to Eltroplectris within the Stenorrhynchos clade.
DNA data and archidaceae systematics: A new phylogenetic classification
A new phylogenetic classification of Orchidaceae is proposed that accords with these newly discovered relationships and should help to focus other areas of orchid research and stimulate the creation of new hypotheses that will direct orchid researchers to new questions.
Phylogenetics of Arethuseae (Orchidaceae) Based on Plastid matK and rbcL Sequences
Assessment of Sequences of two plastid genes for Arethuseae sensu Dressler and component subtribes indicate that the tribe may not be monophyletic and that this gene may be non-functional within Orchidaceae.
Liparis funingensis (Orchidaceae; Epidendroideae; Malaxidae), a new species from Yunnan, China: evidence from morphology and DNA
A new orchid species from Yunnan, China, is described and illustrated in this study based on morphological and molecular analyses and indicates that L. funingensis is a member of L. layardii subclade.
A New Orchid Genus, Danxiaorchis, and Phylogenetic Analysis of the Tribe Calypsoeae
Based on the results of the phylogenetic analyses, Calypsoeae, under which the new orchid is classified, represents an independent lineage in the Epidendroideae subfamily, and is a monophyletic tribe consisting of eight well-supported clades with 13 subclades (genera), which are all in agreement with the phytogeography of Calyp soeae.
Dendrobium (Orchidaceae): To split or not to split?
It is argued that a broad concept of the genus Dendrobium, which includes genera like Cadetia Gaudich.
Neolindleya Kraenzl. (Orchidaceae), an enigmatic and largely overlooked autogamous genus from temperate East Asia
The results, based partly on SEM studies, reinforce the validity of Neolindleya as a genus, indicate a closer relationship with Galearis s.l. than with Platanthera s.
Sirindhomia, a new orchid genus from Southeast Asia
The new orchid genus Sirindhomia, named after H. R. H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, is established to accommodate three species from Thailand, Myanmar, Myanmar and China; two new species are described and a new combination is made.
A New Species of Galeoglossum (Orchidaceae, Cranichidinae) from Oaxaca, Mexico
A cladistic parsimony analysis of DNA sequences of nuclear ITS region and plastid matK-trnK region showed that the three currently recognized species of Galeoglossum form a monophyletic group, which is sister to Prescottia.
Nujiangia (Orchidaceae: Orchideae): A new genus from the Himalayas
An analysis of combined plastid and nuclear data and morphological evidence revealed that H. griffithii is closest to Gennaria, a monotypic genus restricted to the western Mediterranean and Canary Islands, and a new genus, Nujiangia, is tentatively proposed to accommodate this taxon.
