A supramolecular crystal, built from a 1 : 1 molar ratio of potassium tetraphenylboron (KBPh4) with 1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxacyclooctadecane (18-Crown-6), contains an organometallic half-sandwich superstructure unit {K(18-Crown-6)(ηn-C6H5B(C6H5)3)} (1 with n = 1-6), and shows a reversible phase transition at ∼211 K. The analysis of crystal structures at 173 K in the low-temperature phase, and 293 and 423 K in the high-temperature phase revealed that the breaking-symmetry phase transition is…

Crystal structures, phase transitions, and switchable dielectric behaviors: comparison of a series of N-heterocyclic ammonium perchlorates.
TLDR
Three analogue N-heterocyclic complexes, 1-propyl-1-methylpiperidinium perchlorate (, [PMpip][ClO4], 1-cyanomethyl- 1-methylmorpholinium per chlorate(, [CMmor], and 1-CyanometHyl-2-methylmethine perchlorates (, ]CMmor), are identified as phase transition materials displaying switchable dielectric behaviors.
Supramolecular bola-like ferroelectric: 4-methoxyanilinium tetrafluoroborate-18-crown-6.
TLDR
The supramolecular bola-like ferroelectric is distinct from the precedent ferroelectrics and will open a new avenue for the design of polar functional materials.

4-Methoxyanilinium perrhenate 18-crown-6: a new ferroelectric with order originating in swinglike motion slowing down.
TLDR
Temperature-dependent solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance measurements reveal three kinds of molecular motions existing in the compound: pendulumlike swing of 4-methoxyanilinium cation, rotation of 18-crown-6 ring, and rotation of the methoxyl group, which corresponds to the centrosymmetric-to-noncentrosy mmetric arrangement of the compound, resulting in the formation of ferroelectricity.
Potassium complexes supported by monoanionic tetradentate amino-phenolate ligands: synthesis, structure and catalysis in the ring-opening polymerization of rac-lactide.
TLDR
Experimental results demonstrated that a bulky trityl substituent at the ortho-position of the phenolate ring of the ligand framework is beneficial for the enhancement of the activities of these potassium complexes.
