Genetic mapping studies suggest that a small interval on human chromosome distal 17q24-proximal 17q25 harbors genes involved in sporadic breast and ovarian tumorigenesis and in the autosomal dominant disorders hereditary neuralgic amyotrophy and tylosis with esophageal cancer.
