OBJECTIVE Pregnancy is associated with increased influenza hospitalizations and physician visits (events) in healthy women and those with co-morbidities. Annual influenza immunization is recommended for all pregnant women. Although vaccination is expected to reduce influenza-related events, the economic implications are unclear.
