Abstract 1. 1. A technique has been developed with which a rat can be made hypothermic at a body temperature ( T i nb ) of 19.0±0.3°C for periods up to 24 h and then rewarmed to normothermia without any apparent ill effect. Similar results were obtained with ground squirrels at a ( T b ) near 7°C for 72h. 2. 2.
