Adenosine deaminase (ADA) has been detected immunohistochemically in human thymus. The enzyme was localized predominantly in cortical thymocytes. Occasional lymphocytes in the medulla were also positive for ADA. Blood vessels, connective tissue, and Hassall's corpuscles were not stained for the enzyme.
