The results of foam flooding in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) practices depend largely on the stability of foam flow within reservoirs. To stabilize foam, polymers such as partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide are added to the foaming agents. However, due to residual polymer, which tend to expand in volume within the porous medium, formation damage is inevitable.
