}Pyogenic hepatic abscess (PHA) is a rare but potentially serious disease. Investigations of new therapeutic methods urgently need experimental support in corresponding animal models. However, to date, few studies have evaluated PHA in the minipig. The linear regression equation of the Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 strain was established. PHA was successfully mocked, and S. aureus ATCC 29213 was the only pathogenic bacterium identified. The abscess formation stage was observed on the 21st day…

A porcine bimicrobial abscess model for testing interventional treatments
- Medicine
- 2020
This paper provides the first description of a pig model for multiloculated abscesses, which could potentially enable the evaluation of new technologies to replace or augment the current standard of care (image-guided percutaneous abscess drainage with antibiotics).
Alcoholization of pyogenichepatic abscess with absolute alcohol in Bama minipigs.
- MedicineExperimental and therapeutic medicine
- 2017
In conclusion, ultrasound-guided percutaneous alcoholization is a safe and effective procedure to manage PHA and may reduce the treatment period and possibly become a novel strategy for the management of PHA.
Histological and anatomical structure of the nasal cavity of Bama minipigs
- MedicinePloS one
- 2017
The present work comprises a histological study of the nasal cavity of Bama minipigs, and will be beneficial for understanding the mechanisms of immunity in these animals after nasal vaccination.

The prognosis of PLA may depend chiefly on the severity of the basic physical condition and underlying pathology, and a more aggressive approach should be considered, especially for patients with poor prognosis.
