Abstract The new lichenicolous Llimoniella phaeophysciae, known from Italy, Spain and the USA (Arizona) on Phaeophyscia, resembles Geltingia associata in the subcylindrical asci with uniseriate, shortly ellipsoid ascospores, but is distinguished by several important characters. Gelatinopsis acarosporicola, G. heppiae, Geltingia groenlandiae and Psorotichia terricola (syn. nov. Gelatinopsis leptogii) are considered to be congeneric with L. phaeophysciae, although some of them have elongate…

Contributions to the knowledge of lichenicolous fungi growing on baeomycetoid lichens and Icmadophila, with a key to the species

Five species of lichenicolous fungi are described as new to science and an undescribed species of Arthonia (on Pseudobaeomyces) is briefly characterized.

Studies on lichenicolous fungi in the Uppsala (UPS) collection curated by the late Rolf Santesson

A new genus and species, Stromatoneolamya ugandensis, is described for a lichenicolous ascomycete growing on Canoparmelia nairobiensis that mainly differs from Neolamy peltigerae in its well-developed clypeus, completely immersed ascomata clustered in stromatic warts on the host thallus, and the absence of external periphyses.

Multiple origin of the lichenicolous life habit in Helotiales, based on nuclear ribosomal sequences

The results suggest that the lichen-inhabiting life-style in Helotiales was subjected to gains or losses at least three times and its deep relationships to other groups remain unresolved based on rDNA sequences.

Two Superficially Similar Lichen Crusts, Gregorella humida and Moelleropsis nebulosa, and a Description of the New Lichenicolous Fungus Llimoniella gregorellae

Two superficially similar lichen crusts, Gregorella humida and Moelleropsis nebulosa, and a description of the new lichenicolous fungus Llimoniella gregorellae are described, which indicates that it belongs in Leotiomycetes.

Lichenicolous fungi from Kodar Range, Trans-Baikal Territory of Russia

Sixty three species of lichenicolous and allied fungi are reported, 47 of which are new to Trans-Baikal Territory of Russia. A presumably undescribed Llimoniella -like discomycete on Protoblastenia

Deltopyxis triangulispora gen . et sp . nov . , a polysporous Tromeropsis-like discomycete of unclear relationship

  • Biology
  • 2012
The new genus and species Deltopyxis triangulispora is described, characterized by 64-spored, elongate saccate, short-stalked, inamyloid, rather thin-walled asci which arise from croziers and open at the apex by a broad slit-like pore.

Thamnolia vermicularis, supporting 23 species of lichenicolous fungi, is shown to be the 15th most hospitable lichen species in the world.

New Records of Lichenicolous Fungi from Calabria (Southern Italy), Including a First Checklist

The number of lichenicolous fungi known from this region was enlarged from 37 to 147 and the new species Abrothallus puntilloi and Xenonectriella calabrica are described.

Catalogue of saxicolous lichens (Ascomycota) of the archaeological area of Siega Verde (Salamanca, Spain)

We here present the partial results of a research project focusing on the lichen diversity and lichen-induced biodeterioration processes in two archaeological places -Siega Verde, Spain, and Foz-Côa,

First Records and Noteworthy Lichens and Lichenicolous Fungi from Saxony-Anhalt and the Western Part of the Harz National Park (Lower Saxony)

23 species were rediscovered in Saxony-Anhalt mostly after a very long time, including the following which were considered extinct in the Red List: Anaptychia ciliaris, Arthonia vinosa, Bacidina egenula, Biatora efflorescens, Icmadophila ericetorum, Lecanactis abietina, LECanora subcarnea and Lecidea tesselata var.
