This paper presents a new power control algorithm for wireless networks. The proposed algorithm achieves the maximum uniform signal-to-interference-ratio (SIR), i.e., the maximum value of the SIR when the SIRs of all links are the same. The existing algorithms in the literature require a central unit to perform a state-machine process tracing different scenarios and commanding different target SIR values to the links.
